Saving Seeds For the Library - And You!

Posted by Alana T.

The EPL is planning to start a seed lending library for our patrons. What is a seed library?  It is a place where local gardeners can obtain free or low cost seeds, most grown and donated by other local gardeners.  Patrons ‘check out’ seeds and collect new ones for ‘return’ at the end of the growing season.  Our goal is to have our first collection of seeds this Fall (2013).  We will sort & package during Winter.  Hopefully, Seeds will be available for checkout next Spring (2014).

As we plan our new project, we would like to know if our patrons are interested in using a seed library and what type of services you would like.

Please take a moment and fill out our short online survey (we also have surveys available at the circulation desk).  Your responses will be very helpful to us as we plan our Seed Library.  If you have friends who would be interested, ask them to fill out the survey, too.  Thanks and happy gardening!
