Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury.  A story about two 14-year old boys who encounter a sinister carnival leader. It becomes a story of good versus evil, predictably ending with good triumphing.  

Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James.  An erotic romance between a young woman and a slightly older man who introduces her to a different lifestyle in more ways than one. Not very well written and some of the dialogue gets old but interesting.

Shades of Earth by Beth Revis.  The final book in the trilogy. Surprise ending, although not as strong of a book as the first two.  Start with book number one, Across the Universe in which we are introduced to the passengers of the ship and the original murder mystery. 

Keeper by Kathi Appelt.  The story of a young girl who believes in magic who is in search of her mother whom left her.  Explores the magic of love while she discovers the truth about her life
