Contrary to what some people think, graphic novels don't always have superheroes in them. These books, written for an adult audience, are fantastic examples.
Rat Queens by Kurtis J. Wiebe - A humorous and fun fantasy story
about a rowdy mercenary group that causes their fair share of destruction.
Blacksad by Juan Díaz Canales – A beautifully drawn story about a
feline private investigator set in the 1950’s.
The Unwritten by Mike Carey – An interesting series that deals with
the power of words in the form of a boy-wizard who may have been written into
existence.
We3 by Grant Morrison – A very moving and, at times, sad
story about three pets that are turned into cyborg weapons by a military
weapons program.
Daytripper by Fábio Moon – A dream-like story about a man who spends
his days as an obituary writer and dreams of becoming a famous author like his
father.
