Henry’s take on Alice in Wonderland is a dark spin on the
classic tale that achieves a perfect grimness without being too crude. It’s an
interesting view of time’s effect on memories.
Embodying the Greek myth of the Labyrinth, this novel can
be quite challenging at times, but rewarding once you finish reading.
Harkaway managed to blend several genres and make an
entertaining book. It’s a not-so-typical post-apocalyptic book that has comedy,
science-fiction, fantasy, and interesting characters all-in-one.
Written during the Vietnam War, this novel takes place in
a secret military installation where military prisoners are experimented on
with the goal of creating geniuses.
